Our fourth to eighth-grade girls will play the usual rec-style game that those in our program have grown accustomed to. They will play 2 games most weekends with most (if not all) games occurring on Saturday and/or Sunday. We’ll keep track of scores, wins/losses, and teams will be competing for positioning in the end-of-season tournament. While it is rec basketball, it is competitive

• All games are 5-on-5 but the rules will vary based on the grade level of their team.
• Each team will play a full 12 game schedule with 2 referees on the court.
• Stealing will be allowed and free throws will be added to the games.
• Teams will play 8 five-minute periods
• 4th graders will use a 27.5” ball with a 10-foot hoop
• 5th – 8th graders will use a 28.5” ball with a 10-foot hoop.

The regular season will run from October 15 through December 12 with games played on Saturdays and Sundays at schools through the Spring Lake Park and Anoka-Hennepin school districts. The double-elimination tournament will take place December 13-19 so that all games are completed prior to winter break.
