Girls Rec Program

Spring Lake Park partners with Blaine, Coon Rapids, Anoka, Fridley, Columbia Heights and Da Vinci to offer a Rec/In-house League.  Each community coordinates its own registration, teams, uniforms and practices, but we manage games and end-of-season tournaments as a combined North Metro Youth Basketball League.  This partnership ensures we have enough teams to support a competitive and fun rec league program.

In Spring Lake Park, our rec program is for girls in grades 2-8.

2nd Grade teams are 4 v 4 to allow players more touches on the ball with 3rd grade and above following a traditional 5 v 5 format.

Rec League Fees

Registration Fee: 2-3 grades fee is $155 and 4-8 grade fee is $170.00 per player (includes jersey, paid referees, & gym rental).

Program Dates

Girls Rec League runs October - December.  The registration deadline for girls is September 23, 2019.

Late registrations cannot be guaranteed a spot on a team.  All registrations must be completed online (even if paying offline).

NEW for 2019-2020 season 2nd and 3rd Grade levels

Learning and development of basketball fundamentals are critically important at the 2nd and 3rd level, therefore we are building in more skill development time in addition to game time for these grades.

  • 2nd and 3rd grade teams will open the season with a 2-hour camp. The camp will cover skills as well as have an area for new coaches to learn.
  • For 2nd grade teams the first 5 games will start with 30- minute practices followed by 6 unbroken quarters of game play. These games will be refereed by the coaches and no score will be kept. The next 5 games will be 8 quarters of regular game play with two paid refs and a score will be kept.
  • For 3rd grade teams the first 3 games will start with 30- minute practices followed by 6 unbroken quarters of game play. These games will be refereed by the coaches and no score will be kept. The next 7 games will be 8 quarters of regular game play with two paid refs and a score will be kept.
  • On the last weekend both 2nd and 3rd grade will play in a single elimination tournament
