Panther Rec Basketball
Spring Lake Parks Recreational program is focused is on teaching basketball fundamentals, promoting team play, improving individual skills, and having fun in order to promote the lifelong enjoyment of the game of basketball.
The Spring Lake Park Panther Basketball Club is a nonprofit organization that provides youth in Spring Lake Park School District, the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game basketball.
Ages
Our rec program runs from 2nd to 8th grade. Teams are formed by grade.
When
Registration opens in September and practices for girls start in November and games in December. The boys season has practices starting in December and games starting in January. Girls season ends in February and boys season ends in March.
Where
Practices are generally held at SLP facilities. Games will be played at various facilities in the north metro. (SLP, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Anoka)
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Example: Teams practice 2-3 times per week.
Games
How many games will they play? What days of the week?
Example: Teams will play 20-30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
Jerseys
Reversible jerseys are provided as part of player registration fees. Players are allowed to keep their jerseys at the end of the season.
Extra Costs
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
Example: Expect team managers to collect funds to cover tournament entry fees.
