Basketball Board Application
Our 2026 Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday May 3rd, at 6 pm at the Atlantic Aviation Board room (9877 N Airport Rd NE, Blaine, MN 55449).
This meeting is open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend.
Board Role:
The Board of Directors The Board of Directors is made up of up to fourteen Directors. These Directors are elected by the membership during the annual meeting. Following the annual meeting, the elected Directors select Officers from among themselves. The Officer positions include President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Each Officer serves a two-year term. The terms for the President and Secretary are aligned, while the Vice-President and Treasurer serve terms that are aligned together but offset from the President and Secretary.
Additional Directors In addition to the Officers, the Board annually elects several other Director positions. These may include, but are not limited to: Boys Tournament Director, Girls Tournament Director, Scheduling Director, Concessions/Equipment Director, Girls Traveling Program Director, Boys Traveling Program Director, Rec Program League Director, Rec Program Association Director, Website & Volunteer Coordinator, and Player/Program Development Director.
Open Board Seats!
We need volunteers to fill board (voting) and advisory (non-voting) seats for the upcoming season! The following roles are open and we would encourage you to apply:
Voting Director Roles
Girls Tournament Director (voting)
The Girls Tournament Director oversees every aspect of the girls tournament. This includes recruiting teams to participate, serving as the main contact for all tournament-related communications, setting up brackets, and managing the entire event from start to finish to ensure its success.
Concessions/Equipment Director (voting)
The Concessions/Equipment Director is in charge of organizing concessions and merchandise for all basketball events. This role also includes handling the management and distribution of equipment necessary for all travel and rec teams.
Rec Program Director (voting)
The Rec Program Director is responsible for ensuring rec teams and coaches are properly set up for the year. Additionally, this director works closely with MYAS to coordinate boys’ and girls’ schedules with nearby communities.
Website/Volunteer Director (voting)
The Website/Volunteer Director manages the technical aspects of the website. This role includes making sure parents fulfill their volunteer hours and coordinating volunteer activities for home basketball tournaments.
Open/At-Large Director (voting)
The Open/At-Large Director assists the other 13 board members with their duties throughout the year.
Non-Voting Advisory Roles
Marketing/Communications Advisory (Non-Voting)
The marketing/communication advisor plays a key role in promoting the club throughout the year. This position is responsible for helping to maximize the number of players who join each season. Additionally, the marketing/communication advisor coordinates the development and placement of promotional signage to enhance the club's visibility within the community.
Sponsorships Advisory (Non-Voting)
The sponsorships advisor is instrumental in securing funds to support the club’s programs. This role helps provide additional opportunities for underserved families to participate in SLPPBC, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder access to club activities.
Treasury/Fundraising Advisory (Non-Voting)
Working closely with the Treasurer Director, the treasury/fundraising advisor assists with the club's financial matters. This advisor also leads fundraising initiatives, such as FundCrazr, to generate resources that benefit the club and its members.
Development Advisory (Non-Voting)
The Boys/Girls Development advisor collaborates with the development director to support all aspects of the club’s development program. This partnership ensures comprehensive guidance and direction for player growth and development.
